DRIVE THRU

-

We are in unprecedented times.

As an artist, and photographer, I always strive to be creative...even during a global pandemic (btw, NOT easy).

A thought became an idea, which turned into action. I wanted to connect with my friends, while responsibly adhering to the social distancing guidelines.

The result became "DRIVE THRU".

These photos were taken from inside my car, of people inside their cars. I wore a mask, and kept a distance of at least 6 feet. I wanted my subjects to have the opportunity to get creative, and to think outside the box. As a result, this project has become so much more than I could have imagined.

I was so pleasantly surprised that everyone just...went for it.

From a photography standpoint, the idea of capturing interesting and exciting images, inside the confines of a car, was certainly challenging...but grew into something I'm so proud to share with you, today.

Being in isolation underscores the importance of human connection. Spending just 20 minutes with each person brought me so much joy, and made this experience so rewarding. It was a blast watching everyone get a little weird, and it means the world to me, that they would be a part of this crazy idea. I hope each person in this series got a little something out of it as well.

An evolution of this series, I hope, will turn into a self published photography zine and/or prints, with all proceeds going to help feed those on the frontline of this pandemic.

This is a project that has become very near and dear to my heart.

I just want to thank everyone who participated, and I can't wait to continue this series in the coming weeks!
